ParticipantHi
I’ve have the above machine. Yesterday whilst on a fast spin cycle there was a loud bang and then it walked across the floor. I just assumed it was badly loaded so put it back, made sure it was level etc and tried again. On wash cycles it’s fine, but when it fast spins it bangs as it runs up then bangs intermittently whilst spinning. Any ideas what may be the cause please. We’ve had it since new and up til this its been fine…..ThanksJune 1, 2020 at 1:55 pm #469219electrofix

ParticipantDrum is in line with the door. Nope, no other noises only when it ramps up to spin. The drum, when turned by hand, turns nice and smoothly too, no grinding or crunching

Moderatorwhat i am after is the inner drum. i realised the drum would be inline with the door but what your describing sounds like the inner drum spider has failed. the spider has 3 legs and when one snaps the drum moves when on spin and contacts the outer tub. the only clue is some runout of the inner drum when its truned. what your looking for is a change in the gap as its rotated between the 2 drums. a small amount is ok but if it get beyond 5 mm its getting too big

Moderatorcheck all the concrete weight are secured and not damaged
also check the motor is secure and none of the mountings have got damaged
if they are ok it can only be 2 things
either the whole drum assembly is hitting the outer case or the inner drum is moving and hitting the outer one
the only long shot is if the heater has come loose and hitting the inner drum when trying to spin
How loud is thsi bang could it be coins stuck between the drums which tend to move when the machine spins
does it make any noises with no washing in ?
