ParticipantGood afternoon. The above used to cut out when both top and bottom ovens were in use at the same time. (Awkward on Christmas Day to say the least but an issue we could live with) Now it cuts out during the CaTa cleaning sequence. I’m aware that the temperature is high during this process and that the high temperature is causing the cutout but I wonder whether anybody has had similar on this model. It is housed and the cooling fan is rotating as it should as this is visible from the front of the unit. The clock etc stays on but the main oven light goes off till the temperature cools down whereupon the oven is again usable. Can anybody assist? Is there a fault code system on this model? Thanks, Harry.

Moderatorhave you checked
1 the cooling fan is turning at full speed ie not sticking slighly. start it running then turn it off. If it stops abruptly beaings may be sticky
2 the cooking temperatures are correctDave

ParticipantHello. The fan takes maybe 10 seconds to stop running when turned off. The cooking temperatures appear correct. How would I test these to make sure? Thanks Harry.

Moderatorcook temp is easy
buy an oven thermometerhttps://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/un1470-universal-oven-thermometer
its also possible the cutout is faulty. if the contacts get dirty or the wire connection is bad it can cause a small amount of heating and coupled with the oven heat can tip it over the edge too early

ParticipantAfternoon. So I tried the oven thermometer and hung in from the middle shelf. 180 degrees fan was reading 150 on the thermometer. Does this mean a likely culprit can be identified?

Moderatorwell that does not help if i am reading it right
you set the oven to `180 but the thermometer read 150
so that means the oven is cooler than it needs to be so why is it cutting out ?i could undertand if ther figures you had were the other way around

ParticipantScrap that. I tried it again and left the oven on for 25 mins this time. The temperature is accurate plus or minus a few degrees.
