ParticipantHi,
Our siemens WT46E100Gb/30 isnt drying properly, the clothes are hot but they are damp.
The lint filter is clear, the water container is empty the condenser itself is also clear and the air intake is also clear.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Happy to take it apart.
TIA

ParticipantMorning Dave,
Thanks for replying again. I washed the condenser in the shower so I’m hoping it should ok.
what would be the next place to check? I’ve had the lid and side off to check if the pump is clogged which pushes the water to the water container but all seemed ok.
Any other suggestions are welcome.
Thanks again

Moderatoryou may have washed it in the shower but you have to check its not blocked left to right. you can easily see front to back but left to right need visually checking to make sure its clear
also look at the cold air fan, you can just about see it with the condenser out.i have had condensors that look clean blocked from left to right also cold air fans covered with lint stopping air flow
without the cold air flow the condensor will get hot but cannot condense water so your left with hot steamy wet clothes

ParticipantHi Dave,
I can see through the condenser in both directions albeit its slightly trickier looking through left to right as the gaps are tiny, still clear though. I’ve ran the dryer without the condenser in place briefly to check that air is being blown from the air intake to the condenser and this appears to be blowing.
Thanks for your help so far, any other suggestions?
June 10, 2020 at 9:06 am #469506electrofix
Moderatorsince there are two airflows entering the area where the condensor is you have to make sure you have both
would still visually check the cold air fanyou have heat, you have hot air flow and wet air going round so all you need is cold air flow in the condensor and unit should work
do you get any water in the draw ?
how damp are your clothes Not dried at all / have dried some almost dry ???
trying to figure out if it not working or the sensors think the clothes are dry and end programmeDave

ParticipantHi Dave,
The clothes are hot and partially dry, similar to a hot towel at a restaurant. The container does have water in it but not as much as I would expect to see, which is why I checked the pump. Could it be the pump isn’t working as well as it should, but then if thats the case would I not expect pooling by the condenser?
June 10, 2020 at 9:58 am #469508electrofix
Moderatorcant be the pump otherwise you would get the container full light on
am reading things slightly differently now
its sound like its drying ok but its switching off thinking things are dry but they are not completelyopen the door and there are 2 steel strips just inside the dryer clean these and see what happens

ParticipantI’m currently running the dryer with side off, is this ok or would mess with the hot / cold cycle of the condenser?
So located the sensors on the inside, they appeared clean but gave them a wipe anyway. Just put some wet towels in to see if anything we’ve done has changed anything.
In the meantime if you have any other suggestions I’m happy to have another look! It’s a good distraction from my actual job lol

ParticipantI appreciate the help by the way

Moderatortaking side off will cause no problems unless you stick your fingers somewhere they should not be lol
this has to be a sensor problem as the clothes would dry if they had a little longer

ParticipantSo the kids shouldnt be playing with then lol
Which sensor, the silver bars on the inside of the door?
June 10, 2020 at 10:59 am #469513electrofix
Moderatorthe silver bars are moisture sensors. in the owners manual it says to clean them as they can get a film of lime scale. Also these tumble dryer sheets mess them up as well as they coat them with whatever they are inpregnated with
