Hi guys. I was wondering if you guys might be able to shed any light on what seems to be an unusual leak as cant find any info online about it.
    I have a Bosch Silver Edition SMS40A08GB/29
and it got the common e15….I think that what it was….error showing water in the base water trap. Son pulled the side off to take a look and sure enough it’s wet in there. Thing is the water is coming from behind the power unit from a little tab in the base plastic. It looks like the water could either be coming from between the metal and plastic or possibly from the water feed to the top water sprayer up thr back?
I can’t see how water cold possibly be coming from the feed or return as is lower than this point and all dry.
can anyone offer any help as I can fix most stuff bit this one shirt of stripping the full. Machine down has me Baffled.

    Many thanks Al 🙂

we have problems with Bosch machines where the stainless interior joins with the plastic base. check at the rear when its in use

It doesn’t seem to be leaking on the exterior that I can see, just from that small hole. Is that something that can be fixed cost effectively? Tx 🙂

    short answer dont know

its a very unusual place to leak but i dont think thats the leak its just showong at that point

as a test i think i would put a peice of tape over the hole and run the unit when its out. then see if water appears anywhere else

I’m going to try sealing it with high temp silicone round the join inside the machine. Hopefully will work and not poison the pots! 🙂
if not it’s going down the side of the house. Cit s hole in the bottom to let water out the trap and it’s a new car parts cleaner!! Lol

you can get silicone for food use and the temp is not that high but you will have to research if its suitable

I came to seal it and can see there is a difference side to side in the gap between the plastic base and the metal top. I sat my son on top, screwed together and have sealed with high temp silicone. Fingers Xd. Tx for your help
