Hi. Induction hobs clearly work by some sort of magic, so I guess you have to be a wizzard to fix them…or can mere mortals attempt it?
I have two induction hobs, one an Ikea/Whirlpool which has a ring failed (a three ringed model, so only left with two), and another one bought to replace it, a Bosch, which has suddenly started to throw its MCB immediately any of its four rings are activated. What’s the best way forward: chuck ’em; take them to a specialist repair shop; attempt to repair one or both with helpful advice from UK Whitegoods? Thanks.

as you can imagine these units are packed with electronics. Its common to use one power board for 2 rings so my guess with the 3 ring one is the power board has failed
the Bosch one has an earth fault so to find it you would have to be familiar with looking for earth leakage problems

Add to this these units have high voltages on the boards that can be dangerous if not handled correctly.

if you have no knowledge then dont touch

    Dave
