    Good afternoon all,

    Another obscure problem to report!

I’ve replaced the faulty heating element with an Electruepart pattern element.

However, having carefully reassembled the above, I’m sure the subsequent chafing, and accompanying noise is due to the element… i.e. particularly the inner section, which I think protrudes a little prouder than the original. (although the original was discarded last week!)

The genuine part appears to be obsolete, as Crosslee/White Knight have ceased trading, and re-positioning/bending/modifying the replacement element isn’t feasible.

I’ve ordered another Electruepart element, but would be grateful if anyone else has experienced the above or similar, and could advise…

    Many thanks,

    jonty

p.s by the inner section of the element, I particularly mean the “neck area” where the item is bent away from the bracket to form its circular shape. I didn’t mention, but I can see where the drum has been chafing that particular area of the element.

I’ve had exactly same problem with non geuine in the past. It seems to of been a few years since I last did one so can’t remember the supplier. I’m sure it was something to do with the bracket in a slightly different place. I do remember genuine one sorted it. Pain in the arse to change.

Hopefully sorted now by “modifying” element shape, and re-aligning!

Won’t know for sure until return to customer’s, as backplate, element etc is at my workshop…

If you do have trouble Amazon have got the genuine kit. £23. Can’t find it on conect or maddocks.
