    Hi All

My integrated Neff S58T40X0GB/42 is showing Error E:09 after 4 years of normal use.
I believe this is the heat element/pump
I would have expected it to last much longer and NEFF want £109 just for a call out to repair it!! But that’s big brands for you who don’t give a toss as I would have expected it to last at least 5+ years. The cost of the call out and parts would probably be close to a new appliance.

I was wondering is this an easy part to replace as I’m quite technically hands on ?

    Any advice appreciated

    Thanks

since bosch and neff are the same this is what you need to do

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MF0OANCGlEw

you need to test it first to be certain

    Hi Dave

Thanks for the info and happy new year!!

Apologies I should have been a bit more descriptive
The dishwasher is running fine and cleaning dishes it’s just not heating
I did not that this could have been the caused the RCD to trip but the machine was off at the time and the next morning The E:09 appeared.

I just wanted to rule out any other area where the heater may stop working like a heater relay in the control board etc ?

I am guessing the part suggested is the most common failure point ?

I have also had no end of trouble trying to get someone to fix it but hardly anyone wants to touch it so looks like I will be doing it myself.

    Thanks

    try looking here

    https://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/search/find-an-appliance-engineer

if you can use a meter on a resistance scale then we could tell you how to test the heater

    Hi Dave
I have called a couple of the companies local to me from the link and they prefer not to do it so its either going back to NEFF or myself. I dont want to replace it either as the appliance is still in excellent condition and well looked after.
I can use a meter if you can outline how to test the heater I can get it tested and report back

    Thanks

remove outer door held on by 4 torx screws and hooked in at the bottom

below the door is an access flap held by 2 more torx screws

remove cover and you can see the side of the motor

you will see 2 plugs on the side of the motor, a large one and a small one. the large plug has 3 wires. 2 red and an earth wire

remove this plug and using the multi meter on the ohms scale measure where the red leads connected

if you get a reading under 100 ohms its probably ok

    Hi Dave

Getting around the tight space, according to my meter, it is showing O.L when I touch the contacts for the red leads on the pump
Testing the cable connector going back to the board I get a reading of about 2.2

Based on this I guess the Heating element is dead and a pump replacement should fix it?

    Thanks

    Thanks Dave,

I will get the pump ordered and attempt the repair.
looks pretty straight forward, but will have to approach it from the side of the dishwasher.

Will let you know how I get on.

    Actually, I figured it out
The power cord needs to be removed as well. Duhhh

    Hi Dave

Got the pump and finally replaced it over the weekend
To be honest it wasn’t too difficult other than me not pulling out the power cord to release the control board.
After taking the old pump out I did notice scorch marks around the cable contacts so I guess it must have burnt out.

If I were to do it again, it would probably take less than 45mins.

As a result, we now have a fully working, heating dishwasher and a happy home once again.

This video also helped even though it’s in Spanish, It gives a closer view to the inside and is more relevant to the type of dishwasher I have.

And this video in German (I used auto translated subtitles)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ouc6yP_RF30&t=413s

I would be happy to get another 2+ years out of the dishwasher, all for less than £75.00.

Big thanks to you and all for the advice, direction and getting the part to me.

Hope this thread will help others if they come across this problem and can do it themselves.

    🙂
