    Hi All,

I have a Zanussi ZDC8202P (NOTE: wrong number in post title!) Lindo 300 Condenser Dryer (model without an LCD) that is having a frequent issue. It will often start fine, but at some point in the cycle (any cycle) it stops and the start button flashes red and the unit beeps. It flashes about once a second and the beeps are 3 very quick beeps in about 0.5 seconds, 3 times about a second apart. Then there is a gap in the beeps for about 10 second while the red flashing continues, then it cycles through again. I’ve taken a video of it – hopefully I can link / attach it somehow!

The error normally occurs mid or most of the way through any cycle, and no matter what I do I can’t clear it unless I turn it off at the wall and leave it for a few hours. Its been getting gradually worse, and happening more often. I’ve taken the back off and cleaned all round the heater element (which wasn’t that dirty / dusty / fluffy) as well as all round the condenser and filter, but that hasn’t improved it at all.

Can anyone help identify what the issue is before I start taking it all apart in the vague hope that I can seen something clearly wrong with it? Many thanks in advance!

    You’re right – I missed out a C; its ZDC8202P – I’ll update the title!

EDIT: I can’t update the title, or the first post – maybe a mod can do it for me?

does the red start led flash just red or are there yellow flashes as well

count the red flashes and see if there is a pattern to it.. if you get past 20 there is not

As can be seen in the video, the start button just flashes red (no yellow) every half second or so continuously, so no pattern at all. The only pattern is in the beeping!

have you tried opening and closing the door a few times to see if it will start then after it fails ?

Not tried that, but leaving it for a few hors turned off without repeatedly opening the door does allow it to start again. Are you thinking its a door catch / sensor issue?

yes was wondering if the door sensor reacted to heat

Ok, I’ll try that next time. Is there any way to get a decode of the fault code?

Hi Dave – we’ve tried opening and closing the door a lot when the red error lights and beeping start, but it doesn’t help – the only way to clear the issue temporarily is to leave it for 30+ minutes and then start it again.

Any more ideas of areas I can easily check before I have to call someone in?!

    it gets more complex now

you would need to know how to put the machine in diagnostic mode and then be able to find and interpret the fault codes

since this info is not available to the public you may need professional help to do this
