    Miele G4203SC is tripping electrics.

Its just under 3 years old, so outside the 2 year warranty.

    No fault codes showing

trips electrics approx 5 minutes after starting up. when I open the door, its full of cold water. up until yesterday, used 2 times a day with no issues.

I’ve removed and cleaned the filter, drain pump and non return valve.

1/ Any ideas what the most likely problem is?

2/ Is it worth getting Miele to repair on a 3 year old machine? or am I just throwing good money after bad.? previous Miele dishwasher lasted 11 years & washing machine currently on 15+ years

    Thanks in advance

I’d say the most likely candidate is the heater. As for question two, how much a Miele charging to fix?

Miele want £249 as a fixed price repair.

The alternative would be something like the Siemens IQ300 SN236W03MG which is £549 at John Lewis with a 5 year guarantee.

If the Miele was 5 years old, i would lean towards replacing it, but at 3 years it still seems young [h=1][/h]

the heater is £85 from Miele

could be a heater or a leak

    Thanks Dave / Tubafan,

In general – do you think the miele is worth saving? Our last one lasted well

despite the problems the miele build quality exeeds the siemans

i would say its worth saving. really depends what the fault is. I had one tripping and it ended up being a hairline crack in the stainless tub. She called miele out to confirn and they gave her a 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} discount despite being 5 years old

Miele booked for a fixed price repair on Monday & arrived this morning.

As Dave thought, it was the heater element.

Complete pump unit was replaced, and also he added a film around the pipes which he says is a Miele recommendation.

Absolutely delighted with the service from Miele

he left the service sheet for the film

    its 8 pages, but :

“Reason : if the circulation pump or feed pipes are replaced during service work, protective film must be attached after the new parts are installed. This precautionary measure should provide additional protection against moisture in the base area”

ps thanks for the help & diagnosis
