ParticipantMorning all,
got a american T/L with no spin Ive removed cabinet and motor and can see a plastic part between the gearbox and drum which has broken I think this is the clutch am I correct if so what causes them to break is it a case of replacing this or do you have to buy a clutch and gearbox complete ❓ Ive not taken the gearbox out as its next to a toilet and it would mean lifting the machine over it, nice place to be laying on the floor 😥

Between the gearbox and drum or between the motor and gearbox ?
The most common part to break is the drive coupling which is two rubber blocks, one on the motor, the other on the gearbox and the plastic part which locates in to both of them.
Part number 481932528035 (nice piccie on Connections).

there are several parts involved here.
Under the drum is a drive block, a drive tube and then the clutch mecanism……any could cause your problem. You will have to remove the the drum to find out.

Tip, the whole gearbox, motor and shaft assembly can be slid out from underneath without even touching that nut on the top with the drum in situ. That will give you access to the clutch/brake thing.
