I was asked, coerced and threatened to do a little favour for some friends in Rotherham last night and, since one of the friends happens to also hold the purse strings for my salary there was a compelling argument to help.
Not being a football fan this is not a subject that I would know much about but I was aware, mainly due to overheard partial conversations, that Rotherham United were in deep, deep financial trouble.
It would appear that Rotherham need to raise about a million pounds to survive due to many factors, much is muttered about unfair allocation of funding etc. But the point is that they are in trouble and need to raise funds.
I havebeen asked to place links here to both The Millers Website and also to Save Rotherham United where information is available on how you can help. Apparently even Roman Abromavich has chucked in £20K to the cause already!
