British Gas Engineers Appliance & Electrical Engineers To Vote On Industrial Act

Engineers of British Gas are to be balloted on industrial action after a 3rd rejection of the pay offer, engineers are said to be disgusted with the latest offer of £88.00 consolidated from the team reward which was also non pensionable.

Many of the engineers we have spoken to can not understand why British Gas Management refuse to meet RPI, even though ESD (Electrical Servicing Division) business unit turned in profits in excess of £40 Million, they have also linked a tax benefit to the original pay deal in a vain attempt to trick engineers in to acceptance.

British Gas Management have refused point blank to bring ESD engineers in line with our counterparts on the gas service and central heating side, as the skills of white goods engineers & Electricians are classed as second rate within British Gas (although we make as much if not more profit).
