At a meeting organized by European appliance industry association CECED, the government of Bulgaria said that it will revisit a controversial product fee plan that was earlier adopted as part of the nation’s package of measures to transpose and implement the WEE Directive, governing waste electrical and electronic equipment.
Bulgarian government officials made the announcement at a meeting in the Bulgarian capital of Sofia with senior European Commission officials. It was the first meeting for industry stakeholders, municipal authorities and the government to discuss implementation of the WEEE Directive in Bulgaria.
