Rotherham-based company, Domestic Appliance Repairs, has been commended in the kitchen appliances category of the Total Excellence and Quality Awards 2005. This is the second year in a row that the company has won this prestigious award, having won second prize last year.
The TEQ Awards are administered by Domestic & General, the UK’s largest specialist provider of breakdown protection for domestic appliances, electronic equipment and gas central heating systems. The awards were established in 1998 and are widely credited as driving improved service standards throughout the repair industry.
The TEQ Awards result from the UK’s largest independent survey of repair standards on domestic appliances. Domestic and General surveys customers annually on all areas of repair performance. Criteria include how politely and efficiently the initial call requesting the repair was handled and how punctual, efficient and courteous the repair engineer was whilst in their home. The company issued around 350,000 customer satisfaction questionnaires in 2004/5 and had a response rate of 40%. This survey has given Domestic & General a unique insight into the overall quality of repairer services across the UK. Domestic Appliance Repairs, which covers the city of Rotherham and its environs, is delighted to receive this award. I am also led to believe that GT Electrical have taken first place in the TEQ awards, another UK Whitegoods member.
