As anyone that attended the DASA meeting yesterday will be aware that there are major changes now happening within the organisation and that Chris Hayter, the long time director of DASA is to step down from that role and accept a more relaxed role as a consultant within DASA from this point onwards.

It was agreed that, due to Chris’s health (following on from his unfortunate recent stroke) that he should be relieved of many of the day-to-day administrative tasks within DASA and that his role should change to a consulting basis only. Chris has graciously accepted that this has to be done for the good of the organisation and that DASA must continue without his involvement to the same degree as has been the case until now.

For the moment the officers of DASA will take a greater role of the daily running of DASA and achieving this will be addressed in several ways over the coming weeks to find the best methods possible to allow this utilising many modern communication methods. Hopefully this will lead to better communication both to and from DASA with the membership.

More DASA news as it happens but for now all the DASA council members, officers and, I’m sure the membership at large, would like to express their thanks and gratitude for all Chris’s labours and input over the years that he was director of DASA and wish him good health and fortune for the future in all his endeavours.
