Many plastic items will go yellow/brown with age or a continual exposure to heat.
Yellow/brown discolouration can also be caused by the presence of iron in the water supply.
Treatment
There is no treatment to reverse the damage.
Prevention
Only use plastic items that are clearly dishwasher safe.
Investigate the water quality with your local water authority.
