00010000 fault code on Australian F&P GW601U Washer

This machine will not fill water cuts of and on then gives the above fault code. OOB Switch is okay. If machine is advanced to drain the pumps runs for about 30 seconds then same fault code. Pump motor is not hot and resistances on pump and main motor okay. At no time does the main motor run when it should normally rotate slowly on fill and operate with a jerking action to lock the inner bowl spline on spin. Have checked my manuals and say the fault is a communication problem between display and motor controller modules. Have disconnected from supply but still does the same thing. Client said machine has become noisy on spin so could it be a RPS issue. The control module and display are the old blue ones so machine is very old.
