    Just had a call, couldn’t understand a great deal of what she was saying, something about an Indesit but I couldn’t get any model or fault description from her. She put the phone down when I mentioned my diagnostic charge but dialling 1471 revealed her number as 0447466912177 that is a new one on me, where is it coming from?

    Sometimes mobile numbers come up 0044 prefix instead of 0

    0447 no’s are UK mobiles usually phoning from out of the UK. Sometimes show on call reader as #447…….She’s probably phoning from Benidorm.

    Strange, she is phoning from Oldham but has just had a Talk Talk phone line installed, a neighbour who can speak English has just phoned me back. 🙂

    I think she is Asian but hard to tell, I just about got Indesit but sod all else from her that made any sense. 😥

    all UK numbers are 44…. its just we don’t use the national code in the same way as you don’t use your local code when calling a similar local number (on a land line). Think you will find most texts are sent with the +44 prefix.

    Bloody foreigners.

    Funny in Spain a few expats used that term when talking about Spanish people not speaking English.

    The two main problems I have on the phone are 1, speaking to most tech/PC support. Nearly all in India and very hard to understand. 2, speaking to any financial peeps, a large amount of those in Scotland, almost as bad to understand on the phone. 😀

    Scouse birds on the phone from Santander in Birkenhead, impossible to translate. Might as well speak in Gujarati or Swahili for all I know?
