Been on the search for one of these for a while but getting fustrated by so few places having what I’m looking for on display.

I’m after a 110cm, chimneyt style matt black hood to go with my rangemaster.

The prices vary from £360 for an official rangemaster one to £150 for a Newworld one.

    Choices:

    Belling – £375
    Rangemaster – £360
    Newworld – £150ish (fleabay)
    Luxair – £240 – 5 yr warranty
    Stoves – £345

Will there be anything ”wrong’ with the Luxair one? Looks OK on website and not just a dodgy chinese make!

From their website….”Luxair offers a superior standard of quality – and we never cut corners to reduce costs. We use 18/10 grade stainless steel on all our range; We fully weld and polish all joints; We use metal push button controls and our motors extract at up to 550qmts per hour.”

They all look pretty similar – at the moment I’m torn between the Rangemaster (safe bet) and the Luxair (looks good value for £).

    Any advice?

The black with brass are indeed 120cm the stainless with glass are 110 cm 😉

As for luxair I have never seen one, with the five year warranty the product must be okay, it`s just at £240 seems to good an offer to refuse but on the other hand if a deal seems to good to be true……………….. I would probably phone them to see who covers the service in your area and what their returns policy is 😉

    Rangemaster now do a 110cm one….

Rang Luxair – all good cust service etc.

Problem is I am struggling to actually see one before I order – no one has any on display in the Reading area – they helpfully suggested that the closest one might be the other side of the M25!!

If only I could be certain that the Luxair one looks OK I would buy – as it is I might fork out for the Rangemaster just becasue I can see it in magnet (and buy elsewhere!)
