ParticipantIm probably on my own with this one but I find the instructions on entering the diagnostic mode very hard to follow, it takes me about 20 min before it works.
Any chance of a breakdown by someone of how to do it before I pull my hair out having to do it again.

Should just be as in the instructions in the PDF. 😕
What’s the problem that you’re having?
Although, once you get it sussed it’s easy as everything is and gives you a wealth of information through testing.

The machine I attempted to access the diagnosis I could not even get to stage 3 of the test cycle.
When it says “Check that any of the LEDs around the programme knob (L7 – L16) light”, does it mean “all” the led’s illuminate as I never saw this happen to indicate the reset had taken place. I did however see “any/ some” of the led’s illuminate although Im unsure if this means a reset has taken place.
Does the door have to be open or closed to do the reset procedure as section 5 says “check the door is closed”, not sure if this is just a check for the start of the test or means the door should be open for the first stage, the reset procedure?

I’m not in the office and don’t have one in front of me to check but…
Carry out a reset first as it wipes anything held in the memory and leave the program in a “virgin” state. It’s a part of the test sequence and any of the lights coming on is an indication that the reset has been done.
It is a bit confusing the way it’s worded to be fair.
Yes, the door has to be closed to go into the test, probably as well to start with it closed.

Hi Ken,
Thanks for replying.
I went to this machine and I did manage to do the reset.
To do the reset I found I had to hold in S1 “AND” S2 together to get all the LED’s around the selector knob to illuminate.
(Strange as the instructions specifically say press and hold in just S1 which does not work).
Anyway my question now is how do I initiate the test procedure after this. The instructions say “Press button S4/S5 and keep it depressed for approximately 20 seconds”.
This would be fine but on the ISE 1606 there is not the button s4/s5!.
Just to clarify the 1606 facia from right to left has the start/ stop button (s1-s2), the selector knob and the temperature spin knob (s9,s10,s11).
So buttons S4 and s5 are not there, obviously a option from the manual but not this button is not on the 1606w.

No, from memory, they are there but you cant see them.
The panel is used for numerous different machines, with different options, in different territories so the options are there. That bit isn’t exactly clear but if you look at the board I’m sure the buttons are there behind the button mat.

Ok thanks.
Very confusing as the manual shows a three segmant button which contains the buttons s9,s10 and s11.
I see now you mean those five buttons including s4 and s5 are behind the three segmant button not the two segmant as per instructions.
Ha, ha I am genuinely supprised I am the only person who has questioned this. And I thought programming those lux pcb’s in binary was tricky!

Yeah it is a bit confusing the way it’s written till you get your head round it. Once you do. it’s a breeze.
And no, not stupid at all. We all learn something every day and I had to work it out at first as well.
