1607 commercial install

    We have someone who has a miele ws5425 and would like to replace it with a 1607w from a wras point of view is this ok??

    I’m aware of that link but are you saying that because he can’t prove to me that his premises are not suitable for wras I should decline the sale 😕

    Basically, if it’s a gravity drain then the 1607 is unsuitable. Most other times it’s fine.

    But, the bottom line is, that only a WRAS approved plumber can actually tell someone whether a machine is suitable or not. You have to be WRAS Approved to be able to do that and, guess what, they cost a fortune.

    Ok Ken,I must laugh tho,the geezer who runs this rest home is probally 75 himself and has no access to the internet to which i want to send him links etc!!

    If they wash soiled stuff then they will need a gravity drain machine.

    If they don’t do it right and a water inspector chappie comes in it’s big, big fine time especially in a granny dump.

    as far as i am aware (what i have been told by various customers) if its a residential home then a normal drain is ok aslong as they have hv a seperate machine for ‘soiled’ items. if its a care home then it kicks in the rules of wras, sluise , dump valves on drain etc. personaly if they have a ws5425 which is wras approved i would stick with it to avoid any issues.
