Re: 20 FEBUARY 2015 Coventry meeting

I wrote a bit as an intro or taster here:

    http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/appliance … uture.html

Now, there’s a lot to take in there and I get that as it’s a ton of info hugely condensed. Some may not even get the implications of what I’m saying and putting together there from the data but, hopefully Lawrence can interpret it at the meeting and we can make it more understandable.

Or more accurately perhaps, Lawrence can stop me waffling on for hours about it all boring you to near suicide and between us we hope to make sense of what appears to be anarchy.

    Palatable I can’t go for I’m afraid.

I dont do “happy clappy” corporate BS. Most of the WTA Team don’t either but you can read that as “none of the WTA Team”… maybe.

If this industry were an injured person we’d be digging out the adeline injection, the defibrillator, praying and consulting a priest (or other politically correct religious type person) just in case. Maybe a few other religions just in case it helps.

Thing is, that might not be all bad. Okay, mostly bad but not all bad.

How do you profit from it?

Well I’m hardly likely to tell you here am I? For a start it’s a bit long winded and for another we really like to see people and explain this kinda stuff in a more relaxed way.

Or, that might be a lie. We might want to just beat/bore you to death with more information than you can possibly take in during the short (day long) meeting.

Or we might just want to get the numbers up so we can all brag about how many people were there, what went down and how wonderful it was. Oh, I forgot, we don’t do that do we?

Don’t care if there’s a dozen people, like the first meeting or that times ten plus like most these days, same thing happens with a bigger screen, bigger room and a lot more interesting stuff. Mainly as we need to make it interesting because that’s what’s expected these days. No pressure eh? :rolls:

It isn’t Dave, we don’t do repeats and if you’re not there… you missed it.

Unless somebody wants to spring for a video crew of course, then we’d make it freely available online to anyone that wants to watch.

As that isn’t really a possibility it’s probably best to be there.

Plus, there’s all the other stuff like, you know, meeting people that can give you work, meeting suppliers that can save you a sh____ton of money and so on. We’re just a bonus really.

Is there a list anywhere of WTA discounts with what companies?

Found out Monday that swift give the same price to everyone now whereas WTA members did get an extra discount.

You never mentioned the Chinese once in your lecture and that 5{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} profit margin statistic alone will give them ample opportunity for world domination. Is there a rep from Haier or Little Swan coming to the meeting next month?

    Why would I?

What’s the Chinese got to do with much of anything? After all, they don’t buy the cr4p, they just make it for willing punters to buy, as cheaply as possible.

Or are you taking the A-Typical Daily Mail stance that it’s all Johnny Foreigner’s fault, like, everything?

No clue if there’s anyone from Haier, Little Swan or any other Chinese producer going to be there and, I couldn’t care less either way as it’s not really relevant.

We are in the process of pulling it together Tim ,one hurdle we constantly have is that everyone asks for our mailing list ,which we won’t give out.
We are looking at posting offers up as PDF in the WTA forum for members -watch this space

If there is still space for another topic of discussion maybe Ken or Lawrence can do a presentation/training/Q&A on the Fifty shades of grey film.

We all keep insulation tape and cable ties in stock so it would be good to go prepared for any delicate questions from our customers who have watched the film.

I think the WTA should follow B&Q’s example and give out some guidance to it’s members :rotfl:

Haven’t been taking it for years….

I read the B&Q story this morning and wondered what special kind of pratt in B&Q’s head office sent that memo out.

Some people will do anything for publicity so, I’d wager, that the prat was a PR spod.

Here you are John, perhaps we’ll do a version of advice for you in the same vein…

The family friendly version of course as, at your age and given your sensitivity, well… 😉 😆

Or maybe we’ll skip that and do something a tad more relevant.
