    Siemens Dishwasher (SE58591/06, 1997 model)

As you can see I have a relatively old machine (from 1997). A few months ago, I switched from the old rinse aid, salt and tablets to the 3 in 1 tablet. Seems to wash just fine.

Are these machines able to run without the salt and rinse aid? Can you expect any adverse reactions when running without?

    Thanks, meister.

    Useful information here. http://tinyurl.com/2lonzc

In general we feel that separate detergent & rinse aid, plus salt if your water hardeness requires it, is better than 3 in 1, or any other multiple product, although Fairy Active Bursts do perform better than tablet 3 in 1 products.

    Hi Meister,

There’s a little more on 3-in-1’s and their brethren in this article which may help explain why we’re a bit cagey about them. 😉

    Thanks K,

I think you have frightened me enough to change back to the old fashoned method….
