ParticipantHi All
We bought a Samsung WD0804W8E with so call Eco Bubble technology
and are quite disappointed with the 30 degree wash quality. We had an engineer the first weekk as clothes were wet after the wash but it hadnt been installed correctley by the delivery team and as part of his checking he did a test and heard the ecobubble moter kick in, it doesnt seem to bubble up as advertised when washing and i cannot hear a motor kick in but if we have an engineer out they always state a charge if our fault is there any check i can do to see if its working before i call eng out again.
Cheers

Depends what you are washing and the level of dirt/stains on the washing.
I personally advise customers to stick to sensible temperature washing, forget 30 degrees , if you want clean and hygienic washed clothes then wash synthetics at 40c.,whites and bedding at 60c.
Bacteria accumulated in clothes and cloths etc will be killed only by temperature and not by detergents although traditional powder is far more effective than liquids.
Also your machine if constantly used on 30 will eventually develop a pungent smell and possibly a dark stained door seal.
As for the claims of eco this and that its down to temperature and a decent powder for me,the rest is just sales stuff and gimmicks.
My opinion only.

We use 30 for most clothes not heavely soiled and 60 for towels and bedding but we used 30 ok on our Siemans that went faulty so expect this to be thw same or better

Okay so…
What do you define as heavily soiled, lightly soiled or something in between?
I’ll tell you in advance that the industry definition, that is both detergent and appliance manufacturer definition of “lightly soiled” is, worn once, not next to skin.
Therefore a quick wash program is totally unsuitable for most clothing as is a 30?C program. Neither would clean properly.

Apparently so.
Most manufacturers try to avoid that as it causes problems. Samsung decided to make them.
I think it’s like the old Zanussi Jetsystem. Looks good to customers, is easy to sell in store but ultimately pretty pointless.

A few years ago I was at the launch of this nonsense in Berlin and said then it was a load of cobblers.
David, who many will know from ISE, said, “Yeah but they’ll sell it to the unsuspecting public anyway and, get more money for it than its’ really worth”.
Every single time we’ve challenged some of the marketing hoopla of these things no technical evidence that it works or, even does what it says, has been provided. Not a shred, not one time.
So, you not seeing bubbles on an EcoBubble machine, I’d like to say I was surprised but, I’m really not.
It is probably working just fine, just the way it should. Just not to what the marketing said it would because if there was a fault, it’d either halt on the program or come up with an error code. If neither occurs, assume it is not faulty.
