    Hi,

I have a 4 month old Samsung RSG5DUMH American fridge/freezer. The filtered water tastes horrible, as does the ice. It was a brand new filter that we installed when we got the fridge, and we’ve not over-used it.

I have a central water filter under my sink. My mains cold water goes through a water softener and then through this central filter to a drinking tap on the sink. It also goes to the fridge after passing through this central filter (i.e. i’ve got a Y-split after the central filter which goes to the fridge and the tap on the sink).

The water from the sink drinking tap tastes perfect, but from the fridge is horrible, even though it’s twice filtered.

Any ideas/suggestions? Would it be ok to run the fridge without its filter, seeing as the water is already centrally filtered?

    Many thanks,
    Leon

What I would do is bypass the filter and see if this improves the taste, if so then you would seem to have a dodgy filter. 😕
