Hi All,
I am new here, but I have used forums before to get answers to my questions, but now I have read different forums with similar problems but it sounds like my dishwasher is a bit more basic than others I have read about – i.e. it only has one control know and one reset button (can provide pics if needed, because there doesnt seem to be a model number on the inside of the door, and I cant find original instruction manual).Anyway – the issue we are having is that firstly it would not get past filling and then draining that water away – it just will sit there draining for as long as you leave it on. But I have also noticed that during this first cycle the water is cold, but to be honest we have never opened the door during the first cycle to know if it is meant to be cold or not – I do know that it is cold fill, so am unsure.
So far I have had the bottom off and checked the pump and the drain pipe as initially thought it was a blockage. I have also checked the pcb, but cannot see any burnt components or solder.
As I said previously I can provide a pic if someone can identify the model for me also.

Whilst I was waiting I just took right hand side off as well and then disconnected the red wire off of one side of the heater unit, and measured 23ohms across it – so can I assume then that is ok?
I have just had another thought, which takes me back to my original thoughts of there being a blockage somewhere – just after Christmas I was cleaning the filter out, and I noticed that a piece of glass (not sure where it had come from) was sat in the bottom of the filter – could there be more glass stuck somewhere? As said previously I have checked the pump, and made sure the propellers move freely.

Just pulled the dishwasher out under a light and can now see the model number stamp which is very faint but appears to be SGS43C12GB/08

So to summarise – if I turn the machine on, and make it start from the beginning it will fill, and will cycle the water around, but then when it gets to the end of the first cycle it empties, and will continue to try and drain even tho there is no water left in the machine.
I have checked on the base plate and there is no water, and there does not appear that there ever has been.

Pressure switch or fill matrix issue would be my best guess but I’m not familiar with Bosch stuff.

How do I go about locating, and testing these to rule them out?

On those Bosch dishwashers, I honestly don’t know how to do it exactly.
The fill chamber is usually on one of the sides, the pressure switch or sensor should be in the base somewhere.

Thanks for your help, Can you recommend anyone on here that may be able to advise me?

Martin possibly sees more of these than most and, understand them best.
He probably won’t be on till tomorrow though, a number of the guys aren’t on here over the weekend. Or can be bothered at the weekend. 😉

I think it is symptomatic of the Flow Meter (aka Impellor Jug) (Part No: 424099) being at fault. Typical symptoms being that all the machine will do is fill and drain, fill and drain……. Replacing the Flow Meter cures that 95{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time. 😀

Hi Martin,
I removed the flow meter, and was curious to see how it worked so removed the circuit board, and all it consists of is a reed switch basically, so tested it with a magnet, and it appears to work. Could it be anything else?Cheers

Usually as they spin they send an impulse to the board and a magnet is what the little board will sense spinning around.
If it doesn’t sense the spinning of the rotor inside, it won’t work.
How did you test it with a magnet? And, even at that, is it not possible that the magnet you used to test could be way stronger then the little one in the flow meter as it will be tiny I should imagine and not powerful at all?
