    I have an issue with a 9017 DXD910 Black Rangemaster French-style fridge freezer since before Christmas. Bought in 2013, serial no 90170003771
    Symptons: Lights on, top panel temperature displays fine, on/off beep sounder ok, but no cooling.
    Sourced a cheap alternative freezer, so now have the time to try and fix this.
    Had a local chap out, who diagnosed the condenser is OK, maybe the inverter board is bad. Sourcing a replacement proved very difficult/expensive so after studying various websites about the embraco VCC3 2456 xxx inverters, I replaced all the 33uF electrolytic capacitors on the inverter board. Board voltage rails all OK. However, still no joy.
    Now looking at the frequency control line into the inverter, reads only 8mV on my DC Volts multimeter. Expecting some 5-10V square wave as this inverter model expects frequency control.
    Questions
    1) maybe the main control pcb is duff? No idea how to diagnose , see a fault menu, or even access said board. Any ideas as I don’t want to spend £165 on a replacement without confirming this is indeed the culprit?
    2) know any way to emulate the low voltage control signal into the inverter just to check that it and the condenser is actually OK?

    No takers?
    Other things to note :-

    • the small clock display in the left hand door is dead, as are the clock buttons;
    • the internal freezer fan never comes on.

    Have discovered this fridge freezer model is actually entirely made by Haier.
    Have found the main control board located on the top of the fridge freezer. Detached and examined on bench – no obvious scorching or bulging of electrolytics.
    Have detached and examined the clock display board within the door water dispenser.

    Have now ordered both boards replacements from Rangemaster Spares – arriving by Tuesday. Will update the post here either way once fitted.

    Resolved.
    No need of new parts. Root cause was a Broken green TX wire between door clock display board and main controller board. Broken somewhere in the left hand door. Fixed by drilling through door edge to dispenser/clock pcb area and routing a new wire around outside edge of door in plastic conduit.
