9605 top loader

    Need a bit of help with this one.First one ive had to look at.Washes ok but no spin.Is there any tech still out there on these.Also how is access got to workings.

    Hi

    Have you checked the clutch ? use a bit of emery cloth to roughen up or replace pads if they are still available.

    Fear not, we can talk you through his for darn sure. Firstly you need to check the drum spins freely by hand. To do that just release (by hand) the brake lever (that locks the drum shaft) and spin the drum (also by hand). It should rotate 2 or 3 revolutions with little resistance. If it doesn’t do that then you have problems. If it does then check out the clutch (as r600a refers) as it must be well worn and need replacing anyway. (Still available)

    Brings back fond memories. Love these machines, as said almost certainly clutch is worn, also have a look at the bellows seal at the top of the gearbox support tube for signs of leaking. Won’t cause a spin problem as such but may tell you what sort of condition the power unit is in

    Most if not all wholesalers and Hotpoint or HERE even.

    Clutch it was..Obsolete at connect and m/part.Ukwhitegoods came up trumps.paul
