ParticipantHi.
Sometimes the ovenlight does NOT come on when the door closes…I guess because the ovendoor switch (a long, thin rounded cylinder -pipecleaner thickness) is not fully engaged. So I have to twist the switch so more of it extrudes from the cooker frame, and the switch will then fully engage when the door closes.
However, this time when I did that & pushed the switch back in, it stuck there with none of it extruding. It’s impossible to prise it back out, and it sounded like part of it fell inside the cooker. (So now only the grill will work.)
So, I’m looking to buy a new switch. But I cannot locate one for that model at all the websites I visit. (I’m guessing it’s an old model). Can a switch for a newer model correspond?
If I can order one, I believe I would then contact a local qualified repairer to come and replace it. Thanks.June 5, 2012 at 7:07 pm #376006iadom

C00199541 is the only door switch I can see on the parts diagram for that model, as you surmised, most of the parts are obsolete.

iadom – Thank you for your reply.
I’ve just had an email from one of the sites I lokked at – (ransomspares). They have said I should order RS9120 switch – Cooker Single Pole Oven Door Switch.
Does that product number tally with anything on your parts diagram (or will their product number not actually tally with any parts diagram?)
Thanks for your time.June 5, 2012 at 8:36 pm #376008iadom

TBH I do not know if that part will fit. The number I have given you is from the official Indesit Company parts identification software for the exact model you have given.

thanks iadom
I’ll order the part you’ve quoted from an Indesit site, as what you’re saying sounds right on the money.
Thanks again. -
