    Hi there, hope someone can help with this one;

    my Diplomat ADP 8252 dishwasher wouldn’t turn itself on last night, displaying an Alarm E4 instead. Consulting the manual, it said this was a “temperature monitoring system” failure, and gave the very Microsoft answer of “turn it off and back on again” (Duh!). This failed to work, and now it sullenly sits there doing nothing. The LCD display shows the current programme number and the economy symbol, just as it does when working. If I press the clock button, it flashes the number 37 at me.
    Any suggestions before I put my axe through its door? Thanx!

    In which case the temperature sensing circuit probably is at fault, switching it on and off won’t clear the problem until the faulty component has been identified and replaced/repaired, I guess it ‘s just a suggrestion to try that in case of software “lockout”.

    It may be one of the thermostats, heater or the PCB itself, and possibly even the dispenser which can throw up some odd faults at times.

    Best bet is ask an engineer to check it for you, try repairs@ and the directories.

    Please don’t “axe” it yet 😀

    Dave.

    Thanks for the advice Dave. Engineer came with a scalpel rather than an axe, and promptly lobotomised it, so it sits quietly vegetating underthe sink at the moment. A new brain has been promised in 10 working days. Aaaagh! Washing by hand again after all this time!!!

    Cheers

    Simon
