Well if I was sitting watching Jools Holland and mourning the fact that due to kids I can’t go party properly, then it would be time for the New Year nonsense. But as it stands I’ll be here, watching the box with the other half awaiting bedtime just like many others I’m sure.
But I make up for it normally at every UK Whitegoods meeting. 😉
You and Bridie have a good time and make sure you stay awake for the bells. 😆

I thought they were trying to ban fireworks at New Year?
Anyway, I hope you all have a nice evening and are all well behaved, moral upstanding pillars of the community this evening and into the wee small hours. And, if not, just act normal then! :rotfl:
Wishing you all the best for 2005, it will hopefuly be a good year for us all.

K.What’s wrong with that. I sat in the grounds of a castle just outside of Exeter last July watching an evening of Jools Holland with Sam Brown. Plenty of wine & chicken legs ETC. passed by during the course of that evening, and it was magical.
I digress:
A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL PARTICIPANTS TO THIS SITE, AND MAY YOU ALL KEEP UP THE FLOW.

The problem is that the usually excellent Jools Hootenary this year has a completely pants line up. Ian Hunter for gods sake!

No idea who he is either 😕 , but on the positive side, he has a great line up I reckon 🙂 . For me its my old mate from Sheffield Paul Carrack that tops the bill  . Ken and John Mac will be thrilled to know that the Pipes & Drums of RAF Halton will be blasting out the odd Scottish reel or two. Dave Conway will be rocking to Franz Ferdinand, Kevin will be flashing his underwear at Natasha Bedingfield I expect. Del’s an Amie Winehouse kind of guy I believe and Penguin will doubtless be in a flap over Jamie Cullum and surely Mark will salute the talent of Mr Slowhand himself?
Whatever you sods get up to tonight, behave 😉
ALL THE BEST FOR 2005
Regards from Martin and Carol

Never heard of who? Assume Ian Hunter? Was the lead singer with Mott the Hoople. Rubbish early 1970’s band, 1 hit wonder with “All the young Dudes” written by Bowie.
Nice to see that the Scots are “Getting their heads down” at 11 p.m. Is that so they can see what they are doing when they lift their kilts to have a leak? According to the calendar, they get an extra bank holiday over hogmanay. I take it that is to give them time for thoughtful prayer and swear absolution?
On a serious vein, it has been hell of a year all the way round. We have broken some stories in here, highlighted some wrong-doings and collectively we have raised some good topics. Long may it continue.
However, as Don has pointed out; we should think about the victims of the Asian disaster, even if this is supposed to be a celebratory time. I’m sure you all know someone, who knows someone that is affected by this. If any clown sends me a text message joke on this, I will bin it straight away; I’ve had some already.
Now we shall be looking for 5 million hits in 2005 and a bit more recognition.
