I had a call to one of these. The fault leaking and a non runner. She said it hasn’t worked since xmas and she just left it there until now, in a shed still plugged in etc.

I called to it and the first thing i noticed the usual damaged valve due to the freeze. It was left over xmas dripping. I took the back off and the motor was a block of ice, there were icicles growing out of it 😯 . All the wires, plugs and the wires going to the heater element were saturated. The board was also wet especially where all the connections go in. 😯 . The machine was still plugged in, it didn’t blow any fuses or trip switches.

I thought this was a waste of time, but i said bring the machine in the house and dry out over the weekend, i took the board and the motor out.

I went back this morning to put it all back together thinking this would never work… The fecking thing works! 😯 😯 … it’s unbelievable that the board survived this especially as we know how bad they are 😕

I told them do the lotto! There were even burn marks between some of the board terminals from when it was wet!
