A little bit rusty

Hi all, i’m retired from this business now and am a little bit rusty so please be gentle 😉
my folks washing machine (wma 61) is playing up, the door open symbol flashes when closed (and open) so as i don’t have a replacement i want to by-pass the interlock but unlike the wm where the contacts are listed as L N C this one is 1 2 3 4 (though only 3 are used) could somebody tell me which two contacts i connect together, also if it turns out not to the interlock but the board which one would it be as there are three including the user interface board, one down the bottom and one behind the fascia which is behind the user interface, this one has the wires from the interlock going to it.

Dont bypass the door interlock.if you feel its faulty then replace it..UNPLUG FIRST.

Bryan is spot on, the door lock is not expensive. The PCB is not a common cause of this fault on Ultima machines, it happens more on the basic WMA range.

A good idea to split the door and check the small latch spring as well as trying a new door lock, spring often breaks giving the same fault.

Spring is a 1603332 or a C0097647.

If the PCB was at fault it would be the main power board, top right, the board in the base is a DC chopper board to allow the machine to spin at 1600 rpm.

If the interlock has blown the board, it’s often only the neutral supply to the lock that’s blown so the machine may work again when you bridge the lock but not work if you put a new lock in. I’m sure you weren’t suggesting using this method as a permanent fix, but if it was for my own machine I’d do it rather than buy a board. (Not that I own a machine.)

Thanks for replies, it wasn’t a permanent fix i was after. just wanted to see if it was the lock, after some burrowing about in my shed i’ve found a interlock so i swap them over today.

strange,fitted new interlock and the machine fills, empties and heats all at the same time and i hadn’t even pressed any buttons.
are these boards none repairable? as emw don’t appear to have them.

Check feedback carefully. This one looks a bit strange. But he/she does give a mobile number. Could be worth a chat.

QER might repair them but I have only had one repaired and it didn’t work afterwards. 😥

There is a test routine, I will send you some bumf. It may be for WMA 62/63 but the tests are the same.

Those on fleabay are just the console PCB, the Ultima range has a separate power module. 😉

The seller states in the description that they have other parts available and to call a mobile no. The reason I said it looks strange is because they list same item three times in a row.
