ParticipantJust received a delivery today from ‘a trade wholesaler’ who has included a 2011 WALL PLANNER and the cheeky herberts have invoice me 1p for it…! 😯
Not that many years back we always got at least a bottle of wine and a new year calender at Christmas time. Without exception every wholesaler included a ‘Happy Christmas and thank you for your business this past year, all the best for the forthcoming new year!’ gift and card.
Not these days it seems……. :rolls:
Does anybody want a 4 foot square wall planner to nail on their office wall ??? Do enclose an SAE and it’s yours for the taking…. 😈

Name and shame Martin, meanwhile I will check my invoices.
did recieve a calender from connect today….well gone are the days of recieving 2 calenders from suppliers, 1 for the office or shop with pretty pictures of thatched cottages on and the other which was destined for the workshop or back room which was delivered in a plain brown envelope!
I might be wrong but I dont think I even recieved even a christmas card from any supplier or work provider at all this year….January 11, 2011 at 9:28 pm #340734iadom

The only non family/relative/friend/customer christmas card I got this year was from my local Indian restaurant. 😆

Have had two of those ugly wall planners so far. Now today a calendar with lovely pictures of vacuum cleaners and similar things to brighten up my office .
Wish they’d stop wasting my money on postage and filling up my paper recycling bin.

Some stock accounting systems will not allow an item to have no value so it allocates a “freebie” to a 1p status hence you were invoiced. Most systems do allow you to then mark down the 1p to zero by allocating a promotion code against it.
Wonder what would happen if you paid this invoice less 1p :rolls:

They would probably thereafter decrease my normal discount rate and brand me a trouble-maker. If they haven’t already since reading this thread that is? 😈

Had a letter before Christmas, from one specialist supplier, signed by all the staff, to inform me that they would not be sending cards this year and that the money saved on the stamps would be sent to charity !!
Wonder how much they saved 😕January 12, 2011 at 10:30 pm #340741iadom

Erm , that doesn’t make sense…they sent you a letter saying the wouldn’t be sending you a card to save money. The darned postage is three or four times the cost of a cheapo card anyway. :con:Jim.
