KeymasterI have noticed quite a few people asking in here and the public forums for advice about certain things, installation, a certain part or problem and trying to say, in words, what they can see or trying to describe the problem. It often doesn’t work too well as you know what you’re looking at when others are trying to draw a mental picture.
If you can take a snap with your phone (try to make it half decent please) or a digital camera and email them to me (just use admin@ukwhitegoods.co.uk) then I can post them or give you a URL to use the image in your post.
I can do a certain amount of re-sizing and even enhance a lot of these types of image but please remember that I can only do so much and performing miracles is not my specialist area. π
That may well make everyone’s life a little easier, get you better answers and save a whole bunch of confusion at times.

Kwatt,
Is not possible to create one folder on server where can be upload any files (like photos: jpg; bmp…or with β.rarβ extension)? π
There can be created rules of uploading (size of file, dimensions, virus checking) and just after that in the post will appear entire picture or link to download bigger files… πI think that you have work to do other than to check all that we’ll be sending via email…

Hi Baron,
Yeah, I am looking at an easier solution to the problem. But short term this is the only way we can do it.

It is easier for those that wish to add photo’s to their posts to do it themselves surely? Admin isn’t there 24/7 nor has it the time to edit, resize or enhance photo’s I wouldn’t have thought?
Far better would be to demonstrate the art of downloading photo’s via web hosting sites. To place that information in the ‘Advice & Help’ section with an ‘Announcement’ link to every forum. Moderators can then check each photo submitted and make the necessary ‘adjustments’ should that be required. π
It’s worth also noting that adding photo’s to UKW’s database would very likely create a log-jam of unnecessary space taken up I would imagine? π

Not everyone can do that and some people will struggle with it.

No, not really. Weβd have to have a LOT of pictures for that to become an issue.

π hi martin dont know why this reply to ken is on the public forum???
probably my mistake pressed the wrong button on my gas driven pc
no problem though!!!. so to relieve your curiosity….?
a major problem with the usual insurance company looking for a cheap way out of there obligations, re an unfounded claim, against me, anyway
the mention of ukw, in my reply to them im sure, had a desired effect,as they swiftly retreated from there aggresive posturing.
still waiting for an apology from them????zzzzzzzz

Nice pics I’ve seen something similar quite a few years back in my Ariston/Indesit days that was apparently caused by a refillable lighter left in one of the pockets.Mind you the washing didn’t exit through the rear on that one it obliterated the door & glass. That’s down to BPT.(Before Plastic Tanks). As they say in our trade Check Your Pockets !!! I could live with no screws to secure the top, I could almost live with no earth on the motor (broken internal wire not visible but still obviously bad enough for me to notice it as soon as I took the lid off) but this…
