Besides, there is no need any member of the public to take panels off to solve this problem. Try instead to explain the use of one of these…….
I think we mods need to get together here and at least establish exactly what advice is acceptable and what is not? Clearly the rules need defining with greater clarity don’t you think guys?
Further to Martins comments………
Personally, I am comfortable with the advice we offer. Discretion seems to be applied as neccessary.
The specific example quoted above is hardly a revelation. That particular information is in the public forums at least 12 times in the few minutes I spent looking.
So, everybody else?
Chris.

That “discrection” I would like to be more clearly defined though, because on the one hand you are saying “we will not tell you how to repair the appliance” (there’s that “we” word again π ). And in the very next breath advising someone to rip off the door panels to clear a possible gunged pipe that can easily be done more safely and without dismantling anything!
That’s not so very discreet surely?

Hmmmm, not sure I understand that Dave? π

I think what Dave is saying is advise by all means but common sense and safety must prevail.
There is a difference to telling someone how to take a door or a lid/panel off, compared to re programming a module, how to disassemble a motor and fit spares or gas appliance repairing etc.Just my input, off to put my tin helmet on π

I find it quite staightforard to be honest…..
Judge each post on it’s own merit and respond accordingly always bearing in mind any future readers π
