I have a Creda 48189 grill/oven unit (green/brass). The problem is that the grill elements always seem to be on full power irrespective of the temperature setting switch, they are always glowing bright red & burn everything. I suspect it is the energy regulator at fault, the part number you list for this model is C00199654.
My question is how do you access this part? As you know the unit is built in & I assume you have to remove the glass upper top switch panel. Obviously you remove the 3 main knobs & I assume the two little clock knobs, how do these clock knobs come off. Do you just pull them off? Also what secures the glass top panel to the cooker assuming this is what you have to remove.
Any advice on this would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

You will have to remove the unit complete to take the top off as well as the front panel, all the knobs pull off.

It’s really just a case of following your nose, so many variations that is what we have to do in most cases.

Be sure to isolate the power first. 😉

Thank you, it looks a bit of a nightmare. Does it pull straight out like my built in dishwasher? Looks like there are two screws securing it to the units at the front (either side of the grill housing) & there is a gas hob above it. Looks like there is enough give in the main cable. First job I reckon is to remove the plinth & get the hoover under there!

If it was installed correctly then it should pull out quite easily, if it is well above floor level then a small table, work bench or similar would be ideal to lift it onto. These units are not as heavy as a double oven type.

Iv’e had a look & it is on 4 adjustable legs about 6″ long, plenty of room underneath. It won’t lift much because the top is almost touching the bottom of the worktop. Weight wise, it certainly can’t be as heavy as the washing machine(s) I’ve shifted around lately.

You just pop the plinth off, remove front fixing screws and lower the feet, plywood on floor then lift slightly and slide out, very simple.

Re: Accessing Creda Grill Energy Regulator?

All done & dusted, undid the two screws securing the unit to the work unit & it pulled straight out no bother. Removed the top & changed the energy regulator (turning the power off first!). Now have a controllable grill.
Many thanks to all for your help, and also to UK Whitegoods for quickly supplying the part.
One final question, having realised you don’t need to remove the top glass facia panel to change the regulator, I would like to remove it to clean behind it. I have found the securing screws & removed the 3 main knobs. But how do the 2 little clock knobs come off? I have tried pulling them off with no joy, the shafts look as if they are split at the ends where the knobs push on. I don’t want to break the clock unit as it is £108 to replace.

All the knobs and buttons pull off, honest. 🙂
