ParticipantI have a Tefal GV7340 Iron and didn’t realize it had no water in it when I started it up.
Now it won’t start, I have tried replacing the 13A fuze in the plug but that didn’t do anything.
I have looked about online and can’t find anything, does this have a thermal fuze? If so, how do I replace it and where can I buy a replacement part?December 11, 2022 at 2:23 pm #484809electrofix
Moderatorhaving no water in an iron wont cause it to fail as they are designed to be used until water runs out
ok is there any lights on the unit at all or is it totally dead ?

ParticipantNot sure if it is worth mentioning but the iron was sputtering water and steam out before it failed.

Moderatoron the boiler inside there will be thermostats and also a device called a microtemp like this
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Thermal-192{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}C2{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}B0C-Temperature-Cutoff-250VAC/dp/B00XWDTENG/ref=asc_df_B00XWDTENG/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=606635923907&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=483337067262801815&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9046537&hvtargid=pla-1879290932140&psc=1
but you must get the correct temperature as its a safety deviceor if your lucky a manuak resettable stat
sometimes these things just go over time other times something has overheated and the device has done its job and stopped a melt down
you just have to strip it to find out
