KeymasterI have today found a member that obviously gave their sign-in to someone else, I found this out using a reverse IP trace on them, purely because I found out a certain company’s desperation to gain access to the forums. If they wanted access all they had to do is ask!
The breech has been saved in several formats and in two locations as proof of the event.
That user has now had their access to the trade forums removed and it will not be reinstated.
Irrespective of whether the account was gained under false pretences or not I will not tolerate being lied to by anyone, as I said, all they had to do was ask for access and they would have been given it, now they will not be, period!
If anyone asks you for your sign-in details refuse, if that account is caught being used by someone else it will be banned, end of story! And remember if you do that that person can do things on the site in *YOUR* name without your consent or knowledge as well as having access to any private messages that you have.
I’m not going to name names, but the people involved know who they are and you should be ashamed that you stoop that low. Without too much imagination most people will be able to work out what company I am referring too and if this is an indication of how you conduct yourselves you’ve just left a lasting impression on a lot of people.

The word is that everyone he visits is asked to show this person the site whilst he plays best of pals.
Several members are very wary,if you have a visit watch him.

ParticipantWhat makes this even more ridiculous is one of the, lets say higher up employees of the company already are a registered user of the site, but that person has never asked for forum access.
Perhaps they thought it would be refused, quite the opposite, it has been made clear than ANY person from within this trade will be allowed access.
It would appear that the person in question has just got too used to his devious ways and now knows no other conduct, which is quite sad really when you think about it.
Anyway, they will never gain access now, which just pushes the divide even wider between them and the rest of us in the real world.

KeymasterIsn’t it amazing how quickly that one was sussed out? π
And yes, I’ve heard the same tales told about “visits”, hence when I got one I wasn’t near a PC at all and elected for the house instead of the office as there was *WAY* too much sensitive information on view.
I think the expression “quite sad” sums it up rather well.

Nothing really, but they now know that we are watching and monitoring the situation, if things don’t add up or as was the case today, it was so blatent it was untrue, they’re out. If it were more dubious than it was I would have asked questions first.
However, the IP ranges used by this particular company are logged and we are watching.

BRYANJust to put everyone’s mind at rest, we know who it was that passed their password on, and we know who it was using it and they have both been banned from the forums for good.

ParticipantThink on one thing. If you pass on your account details to anyone, not only will that party use your info to log in & have a little look, they could post something under your name; and until you look in and edit or remove, you are seriously compromised.
Think of the damage that would occur and the integrity of the person who nievely thought it a good idea to divulge an access route.
There is an easy way for ALL to look into this and that is by getting legitimately set up on the system, anyone that want’s to come in through the “back door” can do so via hotmail and a spurious name.
All we have do do now is see who hasn’t posted lately and we can use the process of elimination.

It is my opinion that the said person only signed up to allow the other party access, lets just say there is more than a normal business relationship between the two, considering the distance between sos and the capital.

ParticipantI knew I was in the clear.
Anyway I have an alibi, was in Italy. They knew I was coming, there was a power cut all Day Tuesday, Mount Vesuvius was closed due to the rain and to cap it all for the 1st time in 2000 years, the Colleseum was closed due to a strike that happened just before we arrived at the gates.
Apart from that, had a great time, loads of wine etc. they can’t make beer over there.
Took me a while, after reading other postings, what the sos meant, (phew). It seems like it the whole thing smells. Can I assume the Capital is in the midlands somewhere?

KeymasterAlex, you can access the site from anywhere you can get on the internet remember. π
But it’s okay we know who it was and there is a strong link between our favourite WP (from SOS π ) and the said party that got kicked off. Basically, it looks like a dummy front company for them, or maybe some of the staff, to grab a slice of the work. Reputededly this was to be one of the so-called “Supercentres”, more in the “Hubs & Spokes” thread in the Rumour Mill.
The details are all clocked. π
