ParticipantHi, ADG 8410 FD 8511 842 15011 The machine is about six years old. I have an intermittent fault with my dishwasher. After about three minutes the machine will stop, drain and switch off. There are no lights showing. If I am lucky I can reset the machine and it will work properly the following time. The sequence to get to three minutes from switch on is drain, water fill, wash for about a minute then stop The machine then drains and switches off. All help appreciated.

ParticipantThanks for the reply. This is a integrated machine with the controls hidden. I don’t switch the machine off at the wall, it is permanently on. If I were to press the program button it will go off in about 15 seconds and if I don’t press the arrow “start” button within that time, then that goes off in about 3 seconds. This is normal according to the very limited guide that came with the machine. Do you think that turning the power off to the machine completely between each use may help?

Moderatorwas wondering if the computer was crashing on first run. Get the same problem on some tv’s when the power supply caps fail and you cant get them out of standby. But if you leave them for a while they quite often make it
so yes see what happens if you switch off power off at the wall
it does sound a bit like a board problem as no fault codes come up. assume all the lights turn off when it fails

ParticipantYes, there are no lights on at all when it fails. I did replace the control board a while ago when part of it suffered a burn out. The machine was fine for a few weeks before this fault started. I will try switching off at the wall for a few days and see what happens. Is there a way of getting any fault codes up on this variant of machine with a fault finding run? The instuctions with the appliance note some codes but no way of running a test.

ParticipantSo what if I tried different programs, I thought. After experimentation my conclusion is that there is probably a malfunctioning sensor somewhere. My normal program for this machine was the “6th sense progam” number 1. Tried others and so far they all seem ok. Could be just luck but if anyone else has this problem with a similar machine, then try the “normal program ” number 6. So far, working for me…
