Admiral GC2224GEKB american fridge freezer heater O/C

Got this one (my first :eeek: ) with the following symptoms.

1. Fridge freezing in bottom warm at top.
2. Frost on evaporator wall and clear ice on floor of freezer compartment.
3.Water dispensor works for 1 day. icemaker never.

Found evaporator iced up and heater O/C. Drain blocked solid.
Wire fallen off evaporator fan 😉 that ducts air upwards into icemaker and fridge. Wire connected all ok.
No water supply so could not check icemaker.

Questions are:
1. When does the icemaker start to kick the ice into the collector bin and when does the rotater churn the ice as no action seen?.
2.Does the Heater come complete with the in line 104 degree microtemp?
Maytag e-mailed me a exploded view with 67007091 showing. Very Kind.
3. Will the heater have blown because the fan was not connected so excessive ice buildup caused it or does the defrost stat 67004757 need to be replaced?

Des anybody have info on the shorting links to get the icemaker to work manually?

If it’s the same as the Amana ice-maker, which I suspect it is, then yes.

IIRC, remove end cover off icemaker unit then short H and T out whilst depressing the door switch, this should set it off 😉

Hi

Ice aker wont make ice or let water come in until it has reached -13oc.

The test points are on the ice maker cap,(the square white plastic you take off)on the inside of the cap.
