I have an admiral side by side model number GC2224GEKB.

This has had an intermittent fault for some years which i have always managed to resolve fairly easily, until now.

Between the fridge and freezer is a thermostatically controlled flap that lets cold air from the freezer into the fridge. The flap seems to be operated by a solenoid and return is via a spring. That spring regularly falls out; I suspect the root issue is because there should be a retaining lug on the flap which isn’t there and therefore it is only held on one side, but its always been like that and normally ran for several months without issue. For what ever reason it now no longer remains in place and the fridge is freezing up to compound matters I managed to bust the spring.

So I am trying to find out if the flap should have a retaining lug and if it does what the part number is and how best to replace and obtain.

Secondly i am trying to find for the part number for the return spring and where best to obtain.

    Many thanks for your help

Thank you very much for your prompt response. From looking at the part number referenced that is a side mounted motor damper and mine is top mounted, which is different from the exploded digram for my model number that I have just seen. I believe i have now ascertained the correct part and have just ordered. Once again thanks for your support.
