Admiral Top Loader Washing Machine

Hi,I have been reading althe posts aout chanding the “snubber ring” on one f these top loaders.
I m still unsure how you go about changing it without disturbing the brake spring. I have never seen one of the before so I hae abolutely no idea how to go about it, or how long i would take to fix it. any ideas welcomed.
