I have a diplomat adp8132. the ECO light used to continually flash and the door would not lock. i read elsewhere that the door latch may need to be reset, i had a look a the lock but could not do anything with it. when i put the door back on lights 4&5 (heavy washes) flash continually and the door will still not lock. Any clues on how to fix this. Thanks.

The door latch is what is called a “turnover mechanism”. The latch part should turn over when the dor is closed. If you can see two “prongs” looking at you when you peer into the opening at the top of the door, the latch mechanism has probably failed. If you can only see a strip of plastic pointing up, the lock is in the engaged position and need pulling down to reset. The position of the striker on the body of the machine will need to be checked for full engagement if this latter is the case.

Check that first, then we’ll deal with the lights……….

Checked this now and the latter is the case. Can only see the plastic strip sticking up.
How will i recognise the ‘striker’
    Thanks.

The striker is the part sticking out of the casing below the lid which the door latch should engage to after you pull the door latch back to the “two prongs” position.

if the door lock has fipped over you may need a new facia as the lugs on the facia hold the lock in place iv had this fault a few times if you are checking this please unplug first :zap:
