ParticipantWe recently had this dishwasher installed and immediately have had to call out the engineer as the machine was stopping midway through a cycle.
Going slightly back, prior to attempting to use the machine for the first time, I tried to change the setting for salt as per the instructions supplied:
Switch on the appliance.
Select programme 2. (NB This is how it is printed in the manual).
Press the start button for at least 5 seconds until the Start indicator lamp flashes.
The start indicator lamp flashes in relation to the water hardness setting (table, flashing frequency).
With each successive touch of the Start button the setting increases and when it reaches 7 it returns to 1 again.I was unclear what “programme 2” referred to as such a description does not appear to have been used elsewhere in the manual and thought the number 2 could be a printing error. However, having selected any of the programmes, the start indicator lamp does not start flashing, despite holding it down for much longer than 5 seconds.
As we had already called out the engineer, my wife asked him how to change the salt setting. He couldn’t understand the instructions in the manual (he even got my wife to phone me at work to ask if I knew what “programme 2” was!), so he phoned “a senior engineer”. This “senior engineer” advised that in all the years he been working with these machines he had never known a need to change the salt setting and that we needn’t worry as “it’s all pre-set at the factory”. And my wife believed him. I guess we may be using the wrong sort of electricity as well.
As you can imagine, I’m not very inspired by the advice they’ve given us. The engineer did change the user board with respect to the main problem, but I haven’t had a chance to have a test wash yet. Can anyone advise how to change the salt setting or is this another fault?
