ADP8342 – Flashing lights

I recently bought a Diplomat ADP8342 from MFI – it was installed last week. Problem is that intermittently it does not work. It worked the first two times, then the third time, you could hear it start the cycle however it then starts to bleep, which shows three lights flashing – it doesn’t fill with water. I had the engineer over today and was told it was an airlock, – its the usual thing – you test the machine before the expert is over and the machine had righted itself, it had not been used for three days. However after the engineer left exactly the same thing happened again. I’ve cleaned the filter and am sure that something has to be wrong with it.
Does anybody have any idea how to fix this?

It it’s intermittent it could well be an air lock.

It could also be an installation problem, but I would have thought the MFI engineer would have rectified these.

I would phone MFI again and explain the situation, they are generally most amicable.

I had this on my model. It was not a mechanical problem but an electronic one. The machine sometimes goes in to ‘test mode’. There is a way of resetting this. I am at the office at the moment so I have not got those instructions, but when I called Diplomat direct (as it was under the manufacturers warranty for the first year) they told me what to do over the phone to reset it. Diplomat may be more useful than MFI in this case. Their number should be in the manual

i have this happening on my one too! have you got the instructions please? i can reset it by turning the machine on whilst pressing the left hand button down, all the lights come on and thats that!

Kevin, if you phone MFI on 08457 959722 they will be able to supply you with a user manul.

this fault is caused by water tripping the anti flood device there are several reasons why this may happen the most common is a loading fault.on the lower basket if anything other than plates are put to the back of the appliance eg bowls or pans upside down it can intermittantly cause water to leak into the base tray and trip the anti flood device you most clear the water from base tray of appliance and this will clear the fault

Just to say thanks for the information posted by Marti on the flashing lights problem. It was very easy to rectify and didn’t cost a thing ! The problem occurs because behind the black plate at the bottom front of the machine there is a trip switch which is activated when there is water in the bottom tray. Just a few sponges to mop up did the trick.

My 8324 is showing this error with no sign of any water in the bottom of the machine. When you refer to the base plate are you talking about the inside of the machine where pots etc go or is there somewhere out of sight that water can be lurking in?

The base tray is right at the bottom, near the floor.

There may actually be a leak, or sometimes badly positioned plates etc can cause this.

If it happens again fairly soon, it’s engineer time to get the leak sorted 😉

Hi,

I have the same problem, but I am having difficulty locating the base tray underneath the machine. I can see a black plastic hatch on the front near the base, but when opened this only seems to be access to the electrics.

Is there some other part I need to remove to gain access?

Apologies as I am not too proficient at this kind of thing.

Three reds lights indicate anti-flood as been tripped,are you using 3 in 1 tablets.
These are not suitable for slimline dishwashers,causes too much soap suds & trips into bottom of the machine.
That appliance dryout 48hrs & use separates detergent & rinse aid.
