    Hellooooo?

I’m quite p1ssed off at what’s going on here.

I raised this issue with WTA Council about 18 Months ago. I asked if we could use the WTA Website search to be found more online as the function was there. Even if it meant people ‘Chipping in’ or subs going up a bit.

I was flatly told no. It won’t work. I was told that to benefit WTA Members, we’d have to be spending £1000’s per month.

So, I build FindMyEngineer.co.uk and start marketing it to all trades that relate to engineering. (Can I also say I asked 2 members of the WTA Council to help and was told no). So I did it myself. Now, at the point FME is getting attention, results and starting to grow, all of a sudden, we have ‘Find An Engineer’. Which is what I suggested (Or suggested similar to 18 Months ago). We also now have people saying what I said 18 Months ago, that I stayed silent over because of the flat NO I received.

Not only that, but we now have TA Members thinking it’s a good idea and suggesting it’s worth ‘Chipping’ in to be found!!!

I hate to say it, but for f**ks sake like, WHY was I told 18 Months ago such a search wouldn’t work, then to go on to believe it would when now it seems to be a ‘Hot Topic’ and the people that said advertising DA Repairers online would cost thousands, now that seems to have been reversed and my original suggestion is now do-able?

I see Ade is going off on one again with his aggressive language hoping to further his argument. I personally don’t believe FME is the way forward, nor is there any great need for anyone to shell out funds to advertise on the Internet.

UKW’s ‘in house’ FREE service works fine and is getting better all the while. Funky’s Google Maps is the best it gets and in my opinion is the way to go for everyone.

The Internet acts as a great big massive.. HELLO..!..I’M OVER HERE..
.! sign for all businesses wishing to be noticed (with or without a web site) so follow Ally’s advice and get yourself on there with as many keywords as you can muster. You’ll be right up there with the big boys and best of all it will cost you diddly squat!

    Aggressive language?

Martin… I type as I talk. Anyone that knows me personally (As you do), should read what I say as me talking. It’s not ‘Aggressive’, it’s simply fu**ing passion.

As for your opinions, I really don’t really give a sh1t what you say. In my books, you’re a ‘Has been’ that has nothing better to do than stir the pot in subjects that affect us that are currently trying to keep our businesses growing.

You hang all that on one comment from one person?

FWIW, I don’t actually believe that chucking thousands of pounds at Google is the answer.

Please Ade do try to calm down and not take it so personally. Name calling only belittles the importance of the subject matter. And I will not respond to personal comments you may express. Though you are free to express your opinion and I respect your right to do so. Please carry on if that makes you feel better do!

Having cleared that out of the way, I am very very concerned in the direction this (the subject matter) is heading and reiterate that the way toward competing against these high profile companies is as I intimated in my previous post.

There is a future for us all in the trade and we can compete without the need for in-fighting. I am more than willing to help in whatever way I can for us all in the trade. After all I ‘ve been doing it for years on here and don’t intend stopping now with or without the insults……thank you!

Nor do I… But come on… I brought this up and it was flattened! I believed differently, and did my own thing. Now… What I said is relevant and do-able!

Re: National Hoovering Of Service Work – Advertising

Split is as this was becoming completely irrelevant to the original discussion.

    I think you’re confusing yourself Ade. 😉

Can I ask, out of the people that you speak of that said this, which of them has now said that what was proposed is now doable as opposed to whenever?

Also, which one of those has proposed a business model based on taking payment to deliver search rankings?

    As to:

Not only that, but we now have TA Members thinking it’s a good idea and suggesting it’s worth ‘Chipping’ in to be found!!!

    One person Ade, just one.

Does that really justify these posts or having a dig at anyone?
