I just need some helpful advice before buying a new machine because hopefully this can be fixed. Basically a few months ago I loaded the machine for its usual cycle, heard it beginning to fill up then heard a bang. There was no power going to the machine at all and it had caused the main electric system to shut down. I thought it might have been the fuse so I changed it, turned the electricity back, plugged the machine in and it did exactly the same thing again, tripped the whole electric circuit. Anyone know what is wrong? Or is it fixable?

    Thanks in advance,

    Susan

You or someone with the necessary test equipment needs to first visually examine all the components starting with the mains filter, then the main motor and main circuit board. Then if nothing obvious is seen all components needs testing for insulation leaks.

Main motor is around £103 and the circuit board will cost you even more.

If it is under five years old it is covered by the five year parts warranty.

Did it trip the second time the instant you plugged it in or switch the plug socket on or was it after you switched the machine on?

It tripped the second time after I pressed the on button on machine.

Sadly that would rule out the mains filter which would have been a fairly inexpensive repair. 🙁

Could also be door interlock but examination is the only way to proceed, anything else is just pure speculation TBH.

Thank you for getting back to. Maybe be better just getting a new machine. It would make a old bang every time it tripped the power so I had assumed it was a plug issue at first. Thanks so much for the help.
