    Hi

What is the best bargain out there for either a white or stainless steel frost free fridge freezer, up to 70cm wide, with 4 freezer drawers or American side by side type? We are getting MFI to fit a kitchen and want to buy a freestanding f/f ourselves. Any help appreciated. Thanks. 🙂

Samsung RS series – fairly cheap for what it is with 2 years parts and labour guarantee. Out of guarantee still not too expensive to repair.

    Hi

In the 60cm range Bosch with four freezer boxes the KGU32125GB or look at the KGN39V00GB, granted it has only three boxes with on being a “big” box. Capacity wise it is only .3 cu foot smaller and cheaper too 😉 . Or the Hotpoint FF187 which is available in either white Graphite or satin aluminium has four drawers too or the FF200 which has the larger fridge.

Looking at the 70 cm range of which there are few, they all appear to have only a small freezer on the top with a large fridge under. So probably not an option.

American side by sides are all about the 91cm width, yes you have the Samsung range which is good value or for an extra pound or two look at the Admiral range.

Fridge freezers vary nowadays in the depth some are 60cm while others can be 62 or even 65cm deep. Just something to bear in mind if space is at a premium.

    Thanks for your tips

We will probably go for a Samsung American style one. Like the idea of those! 😀

I’d read the forums on those first before jumping into buying one of those, Don did say to look at the Admiral ones which are most certainly better. 😉

My take on the Yank fridges is that without going to silly money, the best I’ve seen are either old or made by Maytag, often both, which is why I have a Maytag as it just works and has done for years on end. The GE ones are okay as well, but not as well built IMO as the Maytag units.

Admiral is pretty much a budget range now for Maytag and they do not have the same quality or build as the Maytag ones do to my knowledge.

    Hope that helps.

    K.
