Advice on space needed around washing machine/washing dryer

I’m considering replacing my freestanding washing machine with a washer dryer. The current model measures 595mm wide, and the gap measures 605mm. Many of the models I’m looking at measure 600mm. Is the gap big enough for a 600mm machine?

If you have the space to keep them separate then that would be a far better option. Do you really need a drier ? .if not then stick with just a washing machine.

Thanks for response. I’m well aware of the issues with washer dryers and that separate machines are better, but my question is whether the width I have would be suitable for a 60cm washer dryer, if I do choose to go that route.

To answer you. No I don’t have the space for two machines, and yes ideally I do need a dryer. Tiny studio flat, no garden, condensation issues from clothes drying. I am researching models carefully because I know that washer-dryers can be a waste of time and money, but am hitting this width question.

Also, if I do go for a washing machine, I have the same question. Will a 60cm machine be okay in a 60.5 cm gap?

With just .5cm that is tight. Not much wiggle room at all so you will have a job getting it in and out!
